Destination Weddings
A Wedding Worth the Trip
Your full guest list, somewhere that actually means something to you. We handle the travel-day logistics so the only thing left to focus on is getting married.
If This Sounds Familiar
You want the wedding to feel like a trip everyone remembers.
You’re not necessarily trying to shrink your guest list or skip tradition, you just want the whole thing to happen somewhere better than the same ballroom everyone else in your town gets married in. The tradeoff is real: more logistics, more moving pieces, and a vendor team you’ve never met before, coordinated from a distance. That’s the part we help carry.
A Wedding, Wherever You Choose to Have It
Whether that’s a mountain lodge two hours from home or a villa on another continent, the approach is the same: full coverage for the whole trip, planning support for the logistics that come with getting married somewhere unfamiliar, and photography that treats the destination itself as part of the story.
The Mountain Lodge
Your closest fifty people, a few hours from home, somewhere none of you get to visit often. A welcome dinner the night before, vows at golden hour, dancing until the fire pits burn out.
The Coastal Estate
A private property on the water. Guests flying in for the weekend, a rehearsal dinner on the lawn the night before. Everyone remembers the trip as much as the wedding itself.
The Overseas Villa
A property abroad, your nearest and dearest making the trip with you, several days built around the ceremony instead of a single evening.
A destination wedding isn’t one look or one location. It’s the decision to make your guests travel for something worth traveling for, whether you’re bringing thirty people or a hundred and fifty.
The Experience
Everything the Distance Requires, Handled for You
Getting married somewhere unfamiliar adds a layer of coordination most couples have never dealt with before. Here’s what we bring to it.
Venue & Vendor Coordination
We study the property ahead of time and work directly with your other vendors, most of whom we’ll be meeting for the first time too, so the day runs the way you pictured it.
Full Weekend Documentation
Destination weddings rarely happen in a single afternoon. We’re there for the welcome dinner, the morning-of details, the ceremony, and the parts of the weekend most photographers never think to capture.
Signature Double-Exposures
Our double exposures are one of a kind. They’re often the images couples frame afterward, no matter where in the world the ceremony happened.
Full Gallery, Beautifully Delivered
Sneak peeks within days, and your full, high-resolution gallery within 10 weeks. No watermarks, private, downloadable, and absolutely beautiful.
“The Pinckards captured all natural and beautiful photographs. They are great with unconventional weddings that are at national parks, state parks, or a spot with great scenery. I highly recommend them.”
— Jamie, Destination Wedding in Lake Tahoe, CA
Wedding Commissions
Built around your day, not a preset package.
Wedding photography commissions are custom designed around the scope of your celebration, with most starting at $10,000. Multi-day celebrations, destination weddings, welcome dinners, farewell brunches, film, albums, and additional creative coverage are quoted separately based on what you’re planning.
You’re already investing seriously in the experience: the property, the planning, the design, the guest experience. Photography shouldn’t be the place where the standard drops after you’ve put so much care into everything else.

Questions
The Things Couples Ask Us First
What counts as a destination wedding?
Any wedding held somewhere that requires your guests to travel, whether that’s two hours from home or across the world. It’s about the location, not the guest count or the formula.
How is this different from a Luxury Wedding or an elopement?
A destination wedding can absolutely be a luxury wedding too, the two overlap often. The difference here is location: this page is about weddings built around traveling somewhere for the ceremony, with your full guest list along for the trip. If you’re picturing a much smaller guest list, closer to just the two of you, our Destination Elopements page is a better fit.
Do you handle travel logistics for us?
We can’t book your flights, but we handle everything related to photography and video: scouting the property ahead of time, coordinating timing with your other vendors, and building a realistic schedule around travel days, jet lag, and time changes.
Do we need a wedding planner?
For destination weddings, yes. A planner, or at minimum a dedicated day-of coordinator familiar with the venue, makes a real difference when your vendor team is coming together from different places for the first time. If you haven’t chosen one yet, we’re happy to recommend planners who specialize in destination weddings.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples inquire 12 to 18 months out, earlier if you’re getting married internationally or during a popular season at your destination.
Do you travel internationally?
Yes. We photograph weddings throughout the Mid-Atlantic and worldwide, wherever your destination takes us.
What's included in the investment?
Wedding photography commissions are custom designed around the scope of your celebration, with most starting at $10,000. Travel costs for your specific destination are calculated separately and outlined clearly before you book.
Do you offer video?
Yes. Photography is the foundation of every wedding, and cinematic film can be added as a separate addition.
