Ashton + Max’s micro-wedding in the Adirondacks was an absolute blast. From their mountaintop portraits, to the rings that they made for each other & the moody/gothic decor for their reception, it was such an epic day to capture.

The story of Their Adirondack Micro-Wedding
A+M started their wedding day with a sweet first look by the Ausable River, which was right behind their Airbnb. One of our favorite things about the Adirondacks is that almost anywhere you go, there are incredible places for photos.
After their first look together, we gave them a few minutes alone to soak in the moment before getting started with more photos. We then drove with them up Whiteface Mountain (the 5th tallest peak in the ADKs) to take their wedding portraits.
Ashton told us that wedding photos were the most important part to them, and we all had such a blast coming up with fun poses and capturing their love & goofiness together. They were so much fun to work with, and it’s sickening how photogenic they are.
After wrapping up on the summit, we went back to their Airbnb for a small ceremony with their closest family members & friends. It was a short, sweet, and meaningful ceremony officiated by one of our associates. Dan sometimes officiates wedding ceremonies, but he was actually filming this video for Ashton + Max. Immediately following their ceremony, they went into first dances (yes, you can still do dances at micro weddings!) while everyone stood around holding candles.
They then had a little cocktail hour, and Ashton’s dad made everyone incredible drinks. We don’t drink much on the job, but we’ll have an occasional mixed drink when its offered. 😉
Their reception under the tent after sunset was so beautiful and happy. I remember sitting there, listening to the laughter and love emulating from them & their family. It truly was a day centered around these two, their love, and their loved ones being there to support them.
Their wedding venue / Airbnb in Upper Jay, NY
Ashton and Max stayed at Warner’s Camp, one of our favorite Airbnbs in the Adirondacks. We personally have stayed there multiple times and have photographed several elopements there.
Warner’s Camp is situated right on the Ausable River and is a short drive to many of our favorite hikes (including some on this list of great elopement locations in NYS). It’s a cute little spot with great hosts and is a great option for a micro wedding ceremony location.
Also, their love story is adorable 🥺. They were reminiscing while we took pictures, because it reminded them of when they met on the set of an independent film where they were cast as prom dates. How freaking cute is that?
Highlights Video of Their Wedding
This is the highlights video from Ashton and Max’s day. Photos are obviously our favorite, but there really is something special about wedding videography. It really brings out the raw emotion in a way that photos can’t. I mean, just watch this video of their micro wedding…
